Birmingham Rep announces Spring 2027 season productions

The Birmingham Rep has confirmed productions for its Spring 2027 season, including unmissable award-winning drama, world premieres, the return of hit shows, and work made right here in Birmingham.

The season also includes stand up, cabaret and productions for younger audiences.

Among the key highlights is the return of A Thousand Splendid Suns, the 2025 hit show that played to packed houses in 2025.

Based on the novel by Khaled Hosseini, the show is unflinching tale of survival, resilience and the strength of human spirit.

Punch, the winner of the 2026 Olivier Award for best new play, will be coming in February, with a gripping, high-energy and deeply moving production from James Graham.

The hit play Grimeboy also returns in May, written by award-winning writer and former Birmingham Poet Laureate Casey Bailey

A visceral, intimate exploration of fatherhood, generational curses and the struggle to become your own man is shown through Chains, a world premiere by Birmingham based writer, producer and director Rem Conway.

Both Grimeboy and Chains are directed Madeleine Kludje, The Rep’s deputy artistic director.
