Birmingham strengthens ties with Vietnam
Birmingham strengthen its links with Vietnam at a special event hosted by the Chamber, Birmingham City Council and Aston University.
A delegation, including Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Nguyen Hoang Long, were welcomed to the Council House to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the UK.
The delegation included representatives from six different Vietnamese provinces.
The visitors were received by the Chamber's international director Mandy Haque and international partnerships manager Sian Timmins, Global Chamber president Mark Smith from Aston University and Lloyd Broad from Birmingham City Council.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between Vietnam, the Chamber and the city.
Mandy Haque said: "It was fantastic to see so much interest from representatives who had travelled from Vietnam, interested in connecting with our Midlands businesses.
"Members had the opportunity to learn about the various provinces and key sectors within them.
"The Ambassador has a passion to grow the relationship between Da Nang and Birmingham and we look forward as the Greater Birmingham Global Chamber of Commerce to working with him and his Embassy colleagues on that - enhancing our businesses' reach in relevant international markets."
