Bollywood Fun Run launched to boost fundraising for British Heart Foundation research
British Heart Foundation’s Asian Business Board has launched a Bollywood Fun Run to support vital research conducted by the charity.
It will take place on Sunday, 13 September at Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire. The event is open to individuals, families, community groups and corporate teams of all backgrounds.
People are encouraged to either run or walk the 5km lap where every participant is expected to raise at least £100 for the charity. It will be hosted by actor and presenter Tommy Sandhu.
The event comes during a time where people of South Asian heritage in the UK are at significantly higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease compared to the general population.
South Asians can also be up to 50 per cent more likely to develop coronary heart disease.
By participated in the event, people can fund lifesaving heart research, improve awareness in high-risk communities, encourage active lifestyles across families, and help save lives.
Registration for the event is priced at £35. Family and friends are also welcome to come along and support participants.
A separate admission fee will be charged by Waddesdon Manor for people not participating in the fun run. Admission for adults are priced at £14 and children aged five to 17 are charged £7.
Entry is free for wheelchair users (and one carer) and National Trust members.
