Burton Albion Community Trust has appointed Will Evans as the new head of community.

Will (pictured) starts work at the Pirelli Stadium on 13 February, bringing a wealth of experience across multiple sports and school partnerships.

Born in Burton, he has always been a Brewers supporter, making this his “perfect job ”

He currently lives in Derby with his wife and two children and is the head of clubs and regions at the British Triathlon Federation.

He said: “I have been a Brewers fan from when I first started watching football, that 's why I 'm so excited to become part of the club.

“We found my 1987 Wembley shirt recently in the garage and it was at Eton Park and standing on grass banks behind the goal where I started with Burton Albion.

“My dad, mum and sister are all Brewers Season Ticket holders although they don 't watch the game together! My mum and sister sit in the stand, and dad stands opposite them. ”

Before working for British Triathlon, Will was head of delivery at England Golf and partnership manager at England Netball.

For six years he was development manager at Derby City Schools Sport Partnership which led him to working with Derby County Community Trust.

He said: “I 'm really looking forward to getting back into seeing the impact of the work on the community.

“When this came up it was a job I had to apply for as it combines all the personal draws, the family connections with the town and club, as well as what I want to achieve in work. It all combined to make it the perfect job for me. ”

Burton Albion chairman Ben Robinson said: “Will has all the experience and imagination to make an ideal head of community and was the outstanding candidate for the job.

“He already knows Burton Albion well and understands how supporting the community is at the heart of everything we do. ”
