Brexit grace periods to be examined in webinar
While the Brexit transition period ended on 31 December, not all of the changes that affect businesses have taken place as of yet.
And a number of periods introduced to give business more time to prepare will be discussed at a forthcoming Chamber webinar.
Several grace periods have been introduced to help firms get up to speed with the new requirements and ensure they are in full compliance with the new regulations before they take effect.
The Brexit Grace Periods webinar on Wednesday 25 August will cover:
- Import controls
- Rules of origin
- Product marking (UKCA marking)
The webinar is part of a series Chamber is hosting in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Keynote speakers are William Bain (pictured), head of trade policy at the British Chambers of Commerce and Nicola Smith, director at Squire Patton Boggs.
Raj Kandola, head of policy at the Chamber, said: “Whether it 's in relation to import controls, uncertainty around rules of origin and product markings - there are still a number of technical developments which are likely to cause headaches for businesses moving forward, particularly given the uncertain landscape many find themselves operating in as a result of the pandemic.
“That 's why we are delighted to be joined by guest experts such as Nicola and William to focus on these specific issues.
“These events are your opportunity to speak directly to technical specialists in their field to secure the advice you need to make informed business decisions moving forward and I would encourage interested businesses to join us for what is likely to be a wide ranging and informative discussion. ”
