A gripping week of top-level tennis at Edgbaston Priory Club ended with two deserving British champions.

Alicia Dudeney won the singles title, her sixth of 2026 and her fourth on home soil - without losing a set all week.

Her toughest test before the final came in the semi-final, where she beat fourth seed and defending champion Mika Stojsavljevic. In the final she faced French eighth seed Manon Leonard, who had come through an all-French semi-final against Jessika Ponchet.

The first set was tight, with both players holding serve well and chances hard to come by. Alicia’s one break, in the seventh game, proved decisive. She recovered from a break down in the second set and closed out a 6-4, 6-3 win in an hour and 26 minutes.

Alicia said she was pleased with her level all week, particularly as this was her first indoor tournament since the summer. She also credited Leonard’s variety and touch for making the final a real challenge.

In the doubles, Jodie Burrage and Australia’s Lizette Cabrera were just as dominant, also without dropping a set. They beat top seeds Esther Adeshina and Angella Okutoyi in the semi-final, then second seeds Victoria Allen (Edgbaston Priory Club Academy player) and Stephanie Visscher 6-4, 7-5 in the final. It is Jodie’s second title of the year.

Alicia said: "I think it's been a great week, I think I've played really well, had some great matches, and it's my first tournament indoors again after the summer, so I was really happy with the way I played this week.”

Jodie said after her doubles match: “It's been a really good week and I think we played really well together. Obviously being here in Birmingham it’s a really nice club, one of the best ones in the UK, so we've had a great week and, yeah, carry it on to the next one.”
