Birmingham women’s charity Smart Works has joined forces with Los Angeles boutique clothing brand cabi for a special event to mark International Women’s Day.

Birmingham and cabi, sponsored by Fico, are presenting an IWD fashion show, panel discussion, and fashion sale at Birmingham’s Ikon Gallery on Monday March 9 from 11am to 4pm.

The special event is aligned with this year’s IWD theme, Give to Gain, highlighting the power of collective support and opportunity.

The event also marks eight years of partnership between Smart Works Birmingham and cabi, a collaboration that continues to support women into employment across the region.

The standout fashion show features cabi collections, bringing together fashion and purpose in a vibrant, uplifting showcase.

The exclusive designer fashion sale includes 70 per cent off retail prices, with every purchase supporting the work of Smart Works Birmingham.

The panel discussion reflects on the art of wearing confidence whilst guests can enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to connect with Smart Works supporters, partners and guests.

Smart Works Birmingham is a charity that helps unemployed women prepare for job interviews through high-quality interview clothing, coaching, and confidence-building support, helping women succeed and thrive.

Speakers include Scarlett Allen-Horton, a multi- award-winning recruitment entrepreneur, BBC Apprentice finalist, and proud founder of  Harper Fox Search Partners, a purpose led executive search firm. She is also West Midlands Ambassador to Smart Works Women’s Employment Charity.

Other keynote speakers are Sarah Kent (pictured), Owner and MD of Whistle PR, a volunteer coach with Smart Works and Mandy Noss, business owner and stylist who helped launch LA-based cabi, who said: “I love helping women discover their own unique style and build wardrobes that make getting dressed feel easy; where they can see exactly what they want to wear and feel confident in it.

“I first connected with Ann Powell and Smart Works Birmingham back in 2018, and what started as a conversation about a Love Local supporting event, has grown into a wonderful partnership.

“We’ve supported the charity through annual clothing donations, and more recently by collaborating to raise much-needed funds to help grow this incredible service here in Birmingham.

“We are absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Smart Works again for the IWD Fashion Show.”

Tickets for the event are £16.96. Visit the website for more information.
