Burns & McDonnell continue rapid UK growth
Engineering, design and construction firm Burns & McDonnell have welcomed a dozen new employees across their UK business after a positive year of growth.
Despite external challenges, such as the covid-19 pandemic, the firm have expanded the team across both their Birmingham and London offices.
This expansion follows the firm 's selection to join a major National Grid electricity infrastructure framework in early 2021.
They will be working on T&D infrastructure projects for energy sector clients and providing multidiscipline design services for data centres and other Mission Critical facilities across Europe.
The recruitment drive continues the rapid growth of Burns & McDonnell in the UK after the U.S.-headquartered firm opened its first European office in Birmingham in 2017.
Since then, the office has more than tripled in size and the firm have also established a second business practice focusing on Mission Critical projects in 2020.

One senior hire, Staffordshire University alumnus Matt Brough, joins the UK T&D practice at Burns & McDonnell as a substation section manager.
He will work with clients to help see that the UK 's electricity infrastructure is prepared for the transition to Net Zero.
In Matt 's most recent role he worked closely with National Grid on a range of substation projects.

Matthew Jones is also joining Mission Critical business practice at Burns & McDonnell as a senior electrical engineer.
Matthew previously spent seven years working at an international engineering firm, latterly as a senior engineer.
