Burton Albion Community Trust appoints new head of community
The Burton Albion Community Trust have appointed Dominic Anderson (pictured) as the new head of community, stepping into the role vacated by John Widdowson earlier this season.
A graduate of the University of Derby, Dominic has previously worked as chief executive officer of the Students Union at Oxford University and as vice president for the National Union of Students.
He has been working across Higher Education and in local government for most of his career, previously elected to the role of Councilor with Derby City Council.
Dominic is also a UEFA qualified coach, working with different female age groups at grassroots football side Dronfield Town for many years now.
Speaking on his first weeks in the job, Dominic said: “I’m incredibly proud to join Burton Albion Community Trust.
“In my short time here, I’ve already seen the passion and dedication of our staff, who deliver life-changing projects with the people of Burton and East Staffordshire every day.
“Having visited many of our programmes already, I’ve seen first-hand the real difference this Trust makes - supporting people to reach their potential, improving wellbeing, and helping to change lives across our community.
“Burton and East Staffordshire is an amazing place, built on the hard work, resilience and generosity of its people.
“What stands out to me is how deeply the Trust is woven into that fabric - from supporting young people and families to improving health and wellbeing across the town and surrounding areas. Yet there is still more we can do.
“It’s also been fantastic to meet fans who speak with such pride about their club and the positive impact it has beyond the pitch. I’m excited to build on this strong foundation, working with colleagues at both the Trust and the Club to strengthen that connection even further and ensure Burton Albion continues to be a true club of the people.”
