Burton Celebratory Lunch application deadline extended

The Burton & District Chamber of Commerce has extended the application deadline for the Burton Celebratory Lunch – giving interested firms and individuals more time to enter the awards.

The new application deadline is Sunday, 21 September.

Four awards will be handed out during the lunch, happening at Branston Golf & Country Club on 24 November.

The awards, which are free to apply, are open to both members of Burton & District Chamber regardless of area, or non-members based within the Burton and District area. The awards are;

  • Burton & District Start-up Business of the Year – sponsored by Sallara Marketing
  • Burton & District Young Professional of the Year - Sponsored by Hardy Signs
  • Burton & District Business of the Year - Sponsored by BCRS Business Loans
  • Burton & District President’s Award - Sponsored by Astle Paterson (Winner chosen by Burton & District President)

Businesses trading for less than 2 years are eligible to apply for the Burton & District Start-up Business of the Year award.

Businesses trading for more than 2 years can apply to become the Burton & District Business of the Year.

The Burton & District Young Professional of the Year award is open to people aged between 18 and 35, and candidates can be nominated by their colleagues and employers as well as nominating themselves.

Shortlisted businesses and candidates will receive free tickets to attend the lunch.

Speaking about the awards, head of Burton Chamber of Commerce Richard Brooks said: “We want to make sure as many members and non-members in Burton and District have applied to these awards, so extending the deadline will help us to maximise the range of individuals, sectors and industries involved.

“The application form is really straight forward, so I encourage all businesses in the area to pop something in, and celebrate their own amazing achievements.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £50 plus VAT per person for members and non members.
