Burton Chamber patrons unite to sponsor Ghana volunteering mission
Eighteen volunteers from Burton Albion Community Trust embarked on their annual humanitarian trip to Ghana, thanks to sponsorships given by patrons of the Burton Chamber of Commerce.
Blu Hardy, marketing manager at Hardy Signs joined this year's trip and was kindly sponsored by multiple Burton Chamber patrons including Hardy Signs, Ginho, Select Car Leasing and Crown Highways.
Other sponsors include Cosy Direct, Sanjib 8 and Jessica Ruth SPMU.
The sponsorships provided by several community-minded businesses demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact on a global scale.
With a passion for giving back and making a difference, Blu seized the opportunity to volunteer with Burton Albion Community Trust and African Adventures for ten days.
As part of a team, she contributed to various initiatives to uplift local communities and empower youth through education, healthcare and infrastructure.
The diverse team of teachers, students, and local business folk contributed to creating a new playground for one of African Adventures' partner schools, Tegi EP.
The playground is proudly branded with the black and yellow Burton Albion Football Club colours. It is a wonderful addition to the well, canteen and football posts from the trust's previous visits.
Upon her return, Blu expressed gratitude to the Burton Chamber patrons and other sponsors for their invaluable support saying: "This experience has been truly life-changing, and I'm immensely grateful for my sponsors who made the journey possible.
“I've met friends for life and I couldn't have shared this with better people".
Her recent promotion to marketing manager has provided her with a platform to advocate for social responsibility and community engagement worldwide.
