The East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced the temporary closure of Burton Market Hall from Monday, 15 September 2025 to allow essential roof repairs to take place.

These vital improvement works are part of the Council’s commitment to preserving the historic character of the Market Hall and enhancing the overall experience for visitors and traders.

The repairs will help ensure the building continues to serve as a vibrant and welcoming space at the heart of Burton town centre.

Cllr Paul Walker, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said: “Burton Market Hall is a cherished part of our town’s heritage and these roof works are an important step in ensuring the building remains fit for purpose and continues to serve our community well into the future.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience during this temporary closure and look forward to welcoming visitors back once the improvements are complete.”

The works are expected to be completed by March 2026 and the Council will provide regular progress reports during this period.
