Business and events centre to sponsor Chamber award

A new business and events centre launched by Sutton Coldfield accountants Grant McKnight has been confirmed as a sponsor for a major awards ceremony hosted by the Chamber.

GMK House Business and Events Centre, based in Lichfield Road, will sponsor the Sutton Coldfield Large Business of the Year Award at next year 's Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Chambers of Commerce annual dinner and awards.

The awards dinner is taking place on Friday 3 February at Drayton Manor Hotel.

Businesses and individuals from across the four areas will be recognised on the night through 10 awards categories.

GMK House Business and Events Centre joins headline sponsor Amazon and Lichfield & Tamworth President's Award sponsor Fruition Accountancy in supporting the event.

Joanna Drinkwater (pictured), managing director of Grant McKnight, the accountancy firm which operates GMK House, said: “GMK House Business and Events Centre is delighted to sponsor this year's large business of the year award, with our parent company Grant McKnight having won the title of 'Small business of the year' at last year's awards.

“There is such an array of business talent within our Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth and Cannock regions so we are very much looking forward to being involved in celebrating the successes of the nominees and winners, especially given what a challenging couple of years it has been! ”

Ten category awards will be handed out on the night. The categories are:

  • Sutton Coldfield Micro Business of the Year
  • Lichfield Micro Business of the Year
  • Tamworth Micro Business of the Year
  • Cannock Chase Micro Business of the Year
  • Sutton Coldfield Small Business of the Year
  • Lichfield Small Business of the Year
  • Tamworth Small Business of the Year
  • Cannock Chase Small Business of the Year
  • Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Large Business of the Year
  • Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Young Professional of the Year

A host of sponsorship opportunities are available, while tickets for the event will go on general sale in December.
