Business leaders invited to tackle workplace financial stress during free talk money week event
Financial cooperative Citysave Credit Union has announced a free regional event that addresses the growing impact of financial stress on employee wellbeing, focus and productivity.
The event will take place on Monday 2 November at STEAMhouse, Birmingham from 9:30 am to 1 pm.
It will bring together regional employers together to discuss practical strategies for supporting staff financial health and explore low-barrier initiatives that encourage regular savings habits.
The event features a distinguished lineup of industry leaders and financial wellbeing experts, including the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), Fionna McLauchlan from Centre for Inclusive Money at Nest, and Katie Compton from University of Birmingham.
MaPS will share national insights and policy context as part of the UK-wide talk money week campaign while Fionna McLauchlan will explore how inclusive financial frameworks and workplace initiatives build long-term employee security.
Katie Compton will present a practical case study on how promoting workplace savings habits has helped foster greater financial resilience across their workforce.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect directly with Ryan Briggs (Finwell), who will be sharing his expertise on effective employee financial wellbeing training and practical workplace education.
Sean Lynch, CEO at City Save Credit Union, said: “Financial stress is often a quiet challenge within organisations, but its impact on staff health, morale, and productivity is very real."
“Talk money week is about breaking taboos around money, and we want to show regional employers that supporting their team's financial health doesn't require complex schemes or heavy budgets.”
The initiative aligns with the government’s broader financial inclusion strategy and the national coalition for workplace savings, demonstrating how regional partnerships in the West Midlands are driving national financial resilience efforts forward.
