Companies at Birmingham Business Park are stepping into September with a walking challenge to help raise money for local charity, Birmingham Dogs Home.

Businesses across the park will be teaming up to walk a mile every day for three weeks to have fun, get fitter and raise money for the hundreds of homeless dogs currently residing at the charity's two rescue centres.

To help keep spirits high, the team at Birmingham Dogs Home will be regularly joining the thousands of colleagues on their walks alongside some of their lovely dogs who are hoping to find new homes.

What's more, every business has been matched up with one of the dogs currently receiving care at the charity and all sponsorship money raised by the walkers will go a long way in helping the charity better manage the 2,000 plus dogs in their care each year.

Birmingham Business Park boasts beautiful grounds with woodlands, ponds and allotments which makes for the perfect scenic circular route for staff to enjoy every day, with or without their own dogs the perfect lunch time walk.

Commenting on the challenge, Lori Henebury, marketing community and business development manager at Birmingham Business Park, said: “We are so pleased to be teaming up with Birmingham Dogs Home for this special walking challenge.

“With 148 acres of mature parkland, Birmingham Business Park is home to 150 companies including Rolls Royce, IMI, Fujitsu, Goodyear and Sulzer with around 10,000 employees. We hope many companies and teams can get involved to help us raise awareness and much-needed funds for our chosen charity of the year.”

Sophie Evans, corporate partnerships officer at Birmingham Dogs Home, added: “We are all very excited to launch this event and meet the lovely staff from Birmingham Business Park companies as we join them with our rescue dogs for daily walkies.

“Everyone will be logging daily steps on our website and there will be prizes for the teams who have walked the furthest and raised the most money”.
