Businesses invited to celebrate spirit of Pakistan at networking event

Businesses in Greater Birmingham are encouraged to celebrate the Pakistani spirt during a networking event formed as part of a national celebration.

The event - The Spirit of Pakistan; A land of Opportunities - will take place at Chamber HQ on Wednesday, 13 August from 12.15 to 3 pm. It will be hosted in collaboration with the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce.

Attendees will have the opportunity to understand Pakistan’s heritage and reconnect with its roots, be part of the learning experience and hear from the Trade and Investment Attaché.

During the event guests will be welcomed by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce president Nasir Awan and the guest speaker has been announced as Owais Hussain.

Owais is a civil servant from the Commerce and Trade Group currently serves as Pakistan's Trade and Investment Attaché to United Kingdom and Ireland at the Consulate of Pakistan in Manchester.

He has previously served as Legal Affairs Officer at Pakistan Mission to World Trade Organization - Geneva, Switzerland & has more than 14 years’ experience in trade diplomacy and trade promotion.

Speaking about the event, councillor Waseem Zaffar MBE said: "It is with immense pleasure that we welcome the Spirit of Pakistan Business Seminar, hosted by the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and its President, Dr Nasir Awan DL.

“This seminar is a crucial platform for forging new connections and unlocking the immense potential for UK businesses to invest and thrive in Pakistan.

“The UK and Pakistan share a rich history and a vibrant diaspora, and this event is a testament to our shared future of economic growth and collaboration."

There are over 1.6 million British Pakistanis, forming the nation's second-largest ethnic minority.
