Businesses support school 's careers event
Members of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce supported the annual careers event at Highclare School.
Businesses including law firm Bell Lax and accountants Grant McKnight joined parents and friends of Highclare at the event.
Speakers delivered talks on what it is like to work in sectors such as law, medicine, engineering and the Royal Navy, while pupils also took part in careers activities.
Aimee Herbert and Zahra Zafar, representing Bell Lax. spoke about what it is like to work in law and the qualifications needed.
Joanna Drinkwater from Grant McKnight talked about her early career and the events leading up to the decision to run her own accountancy business.
A Highclare spokesperson said: “Thanks to all our other guest speakers, who volunteered their time to talk to our young people in particular to parent, Mr Stuart Griffiths for supporting this event once more and Mr Dan Goddard from the Royal Navy who also stayed to lead a Q&A session during lunch.
“We are very grateful to them both and our other guest speakers, who volunteered their time to talk to our young people.
“They have all helped to inspire our pupils as they begin to understand the many career choices available to them in the future. ”
