Care home brings splash of colour to Dementia Action Week

Lichfield-based not-for-profit organisation Grace Cares brought a splash of colour to local care home residents in a special initiative to mark Dementia Action Week.

The organisation, which collects and sells pre-loved care equipment, brightened up the lives of the elderly residents of Barchester - The Spires Care Home by hosting a kindness rock painting session.

During the session, residents had the opportunity to unleash their creativity and express themselves through the colourful art of rock painting. The kindness rocks will now be hidden in the Lichfield community for others to find and enjoy.

Next month during Care Home Open Week on 30 June, from 3-5pm, Grace Cares will host a fundraising corporate afternoon tea.

Grace Cares hopes to raise funds to continue providing much-needed services to the community. The organisation collects and then sells pre-loved care equipment to those who need it at affordable prices. They use the profits to support care workers, older people and their families and the Lichfield community.

Local businesses seeking to make a difference to the lives of the elderly and disabled in the community are urged to join Grace Cares for the fundraising corporate afternoon tea.
