Carers Trust Solihull and Carers Trust Heart of England have teamed up to host a ‘Walk for Carers’ at Packington Estate on Sunday 9 June.

The walk marks the launch of Carers Week (10 – 16 June), a national initiative which aims to highlight the many challenges carers face on a daily basis, and anyone can get involved.

Families, groups of friends and individuals of all fitness levels are all invited to come along and participate in the 4-mile walk around the picturesque estate. There is also a short ¾ mile walk which is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

Each step taken will help support carers in Solihull, Coventry and Warwickshire, you can register your attendance HERE.

Carers Trust Solihull and Carers Trust Heart of England are both network partners of Carers Trust, a charitable organisation which helps support carers and their families by providing quality, individually tailored care support services.

This year is a special year for Carers Trust as it celebrates its 50th anniversary. The Walk for Carers will mark the beginning of the celebrations which will continue at their Charity Ball & Carer Friendly Awards Evening on Saturday 15 June.

If you would like to register to take part in the walk there is currently an early bird offer of £8 per person, while children under 16 can participate for free.

Pauline Manby, fundraising manager at Carers Trust Solihull, commented: “I am thrilled to bring together two outstanding Award-Winning charities to mark the 2024 Carers Walk. This has never been done before and really does bring people together from different regions, to not only walk together, raise funds and awareness, but also to celebrate our unsung heroes.

“Solihull has more than 20,000 unpaid carers, thousands of which use our services. We encourage everyone to join us on the day and kick off Carers Week 2024. We would also like to thank UB Healthcare for sponsoring this event and for their continued and unwavering support of Carers Trust Solihull and unpaid carers.

“United we stand, together we walk!”
