Carers trust announces date for charity ball and awards
After the triumphant success in 2022, Carers Trust Solihull are bringing back their ‘Charity Ball & Carer Friendly Awards’, hosted by the charismatic Phil Oldershaw of BRMB Radio at the newly redeveloped Holiday Inn at Birmingham Airport NEC, on Saturday 15 June 2024.
The evening marks the conclusion to Carers Week (10 – 16 June), a national initiative which aims to raise awareness of unpaid carers and the many challenges they face on a daily basis.
It promises to be an evening brimming with celebration, recognition, and heartfelt appreciation for those who often go unnoticed. The Carer Friendly Awards are for those who truly embody the spirit of unsung heroes, those who dedicate themselves tirelessly to take care of others.
The evening will be supported by UB Healthcare, who have been unwavering in their support of Carers Trust Solihull and unpaid carers.
The finalists for the six categories of awards have been announced: Adult Carer of the Year, Young and Young Adult Carer of the Year, Education Setting of the Year, Employer of the Year, Healthcare Provider of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year.
Brandon Scott-Omenka, CEO Carers Trust Solihull, said: “I am delighted that our second Charity Ball & Carer Friendly Awards will close this year’s Carers Week. The previous awards were one of those extra special occasions when everything about the night was a success. It was a fun time with great food and dancing, but also poignant moments to step back and reflect on the contribution of the unsung backbone of Community care - mostly hidden family members caring for loved ones at their or another's home. I look forward to seeing everyone at what I am sure will be a very special night.”
Tickets for the evening can be purchased HERE or by calling 0121 788 1143. Each ticket costs £50 or a table of 10 for a discounted £450. An entertaining night is promised, hosted by Phil Oldershaw and will include a three-course meal, live entertainment, a silent auction and raffle with amazing prizes to be won, and of course the all-important awards presentation.
