Part of the Systems Adi Group, Adi Automotive provides specialist engineering and installation services for manufacturers across the UK.

From automation and robotics to precision fabrication and sustainable production, its North Birmingham facility supports a wide range of complex manufacturing and design projects.

As industrial change accelerates, Adi Automotive understands that maintaining reliability and resilience is just as important as driving innovation.

To protect productivity and ensure stability throughout its supply chain, the company continues to invest in technology that strengthens collaboration, data protection, and operational performance.

Handling thousands of project files and technical drawings every day, Adi Automotive’s systems began to show strain.

Large design files took longer to load, creating pressure on productivity and delivery schedules. The leadership team recognised the potential risk to production and supply chain confidence if these performance issues continued.

To address this, Adi Automotive partnered with Hubtel IT Consultancy to modernise the systems underpinning its engineering workflows improving performance, enhancing data security, and ensuring business continuity.

Having worked together for several years, Hubtel IT Consultancy acted as an extension of Adi’s internal IT team, providing expert advice and hands-on delivery to design and implement a high-performance, future-ready Product Data Management (PDM) environment.

While many manufacturers are moving to the cloud, Adi Automotive chose to keep its PDM system on-premises, prioritising performance, data control, and reliability for managing large CAD assemblies.

This approach guarantees low-latency access for engineers, full ownership of intellectual property, and protection from connectivity issues that could impact production or supply chain operations.

The solution, built on a Windows Server 2025 platform optimised for SolidWorks PDM, uses enterprise-grade SAS drives in a RAID 10 configuration to deliver exceptional speed and reliability.

To strengthen protection, Hubtel IT Consultancy integrated Datto SIRIS for complete backup and disaster recovery, ensuring projects remain secure and uninterrupted.

Through its strategic partnership with Dell, Hubtel IT Consultancy also helped Adi Automotive achieve substantial cost savings on enterprise-grade hardware while delivering a secure, scalable solution that provides long-term value.

The results were immediate, faster access to design files, smoother collaboration between teams, and greater system reliability.

By modernising its PDM infrastructure with Hubtel IT Consultancy, Adi Automotive has strengthened control over data, reduced downtime risk, and built a more resilient supply chain.

Anas Al-Sadi, operations director at Adi Automotive, said: “The team are already experiencing enhanced performance on loading and saving content onto the server.

“Thank you for going above scope and supporting all the work expected from Solid Solutions.”
