Cathedral set for spectacular Christmas light show
Visitors to Lichfield Cathedral from16 to 20 December will get to experience a spectacular festive light show.
The cathedral is teaming up with acclaimed animation team, Illuminos, to bring the experience to visitors.
'Sing Choirs of Angels ' will take visitors through the story of the Nativity through the popular carol 'O Come All Ye Faithful '.
Alongside the light shows, visitors can soak up the atmosphere inside the cathedral, visit the popular Christmas Tree Festival, explore the story of the Nativity more closely, and take time to reflect, pray or light a candle at the new Shrine of St Chad.
The Dean of Lichfield, The Very Revd Adrian Dorber, said: “This is a most joyful time of year, and we are delighted to be able to share this joy and hope with many people.
“Illuminos have done a wonderful job: taking a familiar carol, that so many cherish; and telling the story outlined in the lyrics of the carol and exploring the carol 's links to Lichfield. ”
Admission to the Cathedral Close is by ticket for a specific timeslot.
The Illuminations are on a continuous loop and visitors are free to see the projections over again if they wish
'Sing Choirs of Angels ' is sponsored by Richard Winterton Auctioneers.
Tickets are available now from the cathedral 's website.
