Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce 's flagship event - the annual dinner and awards - is set to return in March.

After staging virtual awards celebrations in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, the glittering awards night is returning to its traditional in-person format at The ICC in Birmingham city centre.

More than 1,300 guests are expected to attend the region 's biggest business dinner on Friday 4 March (6pm to 11.15pm).

Twelve sector awards will be handed out on the night, as well as the overall Greater Birmingham Business of the Year which is chosen from the category winners.

Henrietta Brealey, chief executive of the GBCC, said: “We are so looking forward to being back in the iconic ICC for a night of networking and celebration of all things business.

“This is one of the biggest business awards events in the country with over 1,300 delegates expected to be in attendance.

“Entering the awards is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to gain recognition and demonstrate their commitment to their industry, specialism, community or teams.

“We are delighted to welcome back Aston University, a longstanding partner of the GBCC, as a sponsor alongside SGS UK, St Joseph and Qatar Airways.

“For the past two years we have delivered our awards in a highly successful digital format - but nothing can quite beat the atmosphere of celebrating together in person. I look forward to welcoming our business community, established and emerging leaders in business and civic society to the ICC on 4 March. ”

The 12 awards categories are:

  • Excellence in Contribution to the Community
  • Excellence in Customer Service
