Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce 2024 annual dinner and awards have received backing from a host of firms – including headline sponsor Birmingham City University.

The university is once again sponsoring the annual dinner and awards, taking place at the ICC in Birmingham city centre.

The 2024 event is being held on Thursday 15 February.

Around 1,200 people are set to attend the region’s biggest celebration of business.

Professor Julian Beer (pictured), deputy vice-chancellor (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) at Birmingham City University, said: “Birmingham City University is proud to once again be supporting the annual Chamber awards.

“The University has been part of the fabric of our great city for more than 180 years, with a strong focus on applied and practice-led education.

“Driven by our mission to be the University for Birmingham, we work with hundreds of regional entrepreneurs and businesses each year to support, growth, and innovation – an ambition demonstrated by the recent opening of our 100,00 sq.ft STEAMHouse innovation centre.

“BCU is also ranked first amongst West Midlands universities for the volume of business start-ups, and 14th nationally, demonstrating our strong support for entrepreneurship.

“Reflecting our business focus and industry engagement, the opportunity to support and celebrate “the very best of Birmingham through the awards made perfect sense!

“We very much look forward to welcoming you on the night.”
