Chamber backs Community Games ahead of event return
The Sutton Coldfield Community Games returns this weekend - and the Chamber is throwing its support behind the event.
The games take place between 12-5pm tomorrow and Sunday at Wyndley Leisure Centre.
The weekend aims to be a safe, fun and inspiring celebration of health and physical activity, where participants can meet with local clubs, join in the fun and possibly even leave with a free medal.
Phil Arkinstall, president of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber, said: “The Sutton Coldfield Chamber are proud to support our local community games.
“The event is a great showcase for sports clubs within the local area and a great way for young and old alike to find a passion in different sports from the diverse range of activities on offer. ”
Chamber vice-president Clare Whalley is volunteering at the event and said: “I'm so looking forward to volunteering at the Sutton Games.
“It's such a fantastic and well run event for all the family to enjoy and it truly showcases all the amazing events, groups, businesses and people we have access to in Sutton to enrich our well-being. ”
This year the Games will be ticketed and there will be a charge of £2.50 per person for entry. Entry free to those under the age of three.
To give everyone plenty of space visitor numbers will be limited to 2,000 people per day and there will be approximately 35 activities.
There will be refreshments and snacks available to purchase on the day and families are welcome to bring along a picnic too.
Please note there is a zero alcohol policy on site.
