Chamber charity relaunches retail offering
Number Eight Tamworth are re-launching their second-hand furniture retail operation following help from a volunteer in re-designing and re-developing their website.
Volunteer Ben Violett, an IT expert who has also joined the board of the charity, worked on the project which means local people can now take advantage of great value second hand furniture without Number Eight having to spend much-needed funds on large retail units to sell the stock.
Chief executive, Dawn Candy said: “Ben 's work has significantly improved our ability to sell our stock without increased overheads of a retail/warehouse unit.
“As a charity we look far more professional with our first online shop and we can also start to encourage our customers to use gift aid when they purchase stock online.
“Ben 's knowledge and time is indispensable to the charity and we are looking forward to him helping us in the coming months.
“The money saved in previous rent for premises which equates to over £10k per year is a massive help to our charity and the support we can offer our families. ”
Based in St John 's Street and currently the chosen charity of the Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce, Number Eight Tamworth offer supportive accommodation for young mums and their babies and pregnant young mums to be in three houses across Tamworth.
The charity currently supports 12 families with 12 newborn babies, as well as two expectant mothers.
The volunteer-run furniture warehouse operation is dependent on generous donations.
Could you help support Number Eight Tamworth to ensure they can continue to deliver an increasing range of services to new and expectant mothers in the Tamworth area?
