The Bishop Vesey 's Grammar School (BVGS) Corporate Partnership made a welcome return to in-person meetings, after hosting its latest business social event at the school.

The event allowed members to network and build relationships, while hearing from keynote speaker Henrietta Brealey - the CEO of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC).

Ms Brealey delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the many exciting business opportunities in the local area, whilst also acknowledging the positive impact the partnership approach to regenerating Sutton Coldfield town centre was having.

The event gave corporate partners an opportunity to finally put names to faces, following a prolonged period of virtual networking due to the pandemic-related restrictions.

Dominic Robson, headteacher at BVGS, said: “Our Corporate Partnership programme represents a wide range of business sectors, and it has been a huge success since its formation, helping to create exciting opportunities for our students.

“The relationships that have been developed between the school and the corporate partners are mutually beneficial, allowing local businesses to collaborate and thrive, whilst enriching the lives of our students.

“The school has recently embarked on a fundraising campaign to contribute towards the Ukraine appeal, which is a reflection of the strong sense of ethical purpose that our students possess.

“We 'd like to thank all of the corporate partners that attended for their continued support and to Henrietta for delivering such an insightful speech. ”

Ms Brealey said: “Having met some of the BVGS interns, I can only praise their confidence for dipping their toes into the networking environment, which is testament to the school 's commitment to investing in young people with business and charity skills.

“It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and a privilege to be invited as keynote speaker - meeting and talking to the businesses in attendance.

“Judging by the positive turnout, the BVGS Corporate Partnership clearly does a fantastic job of bringing local businesses together, allowing relationships to develop that will enhance the local community. ”
