Chamber council vote enters final week
The 2022 Chamber Council election has entered its final week.
Members of the Birmingham division of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce can vote for four hopeful candidates for Chamber Council.
The candidates seeking election are:
- Dr Josh Ahmed - Managing Director, Eccleston and Hart
- Eddie Fellows - Highway Network Director, KIER
- Helga Henry - Consultant and Coach, Helga Henry Ltd
- Dan Hickman - Director of Operations, Jacobs
- Kaleem Hussain FRSA - Managing Director, Guidance Consultancy
- Jack Kelly - Director of Talent and Corporate Affairs, Midland Heart
- Dr Nik Kotecha, OBE DL - Chairman and Founder, Morningside Pharmaceuticals
- Michal Nowinski - Senior Engineer, Arup
- Mike Owens - Managing Director, Schumacher Packaging
- Beate Pesian - Founder and Director, Worksmiths
- Tracey Stephenson - Co-Founder, Staying Cool at the Rotunda
- John Webber - Head of Rating, Colliers International
Members can only vote if they are a member of the Birmingham division of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, and will have until 5pm on Friday 29 July to vote for their four preferred candidates.
Each organisation will have four votes. Should multiple employees from the same organisation vote in the election, only the first voter 's votes will count.
Erin Henwood (pictured), policy advisor at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “Businesses need representatives who are willing to advocate on their behalf on the most important issues of the day - from the economy to recruitment shortages - in all fora, including on the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce 's Chamber Council.
“Chamber Council plays a critical role in representing the views of their fellow members and, as such, I strongly urge Birmingham members to get involved with the election process and vote for who they believe would best speak for them. ”
Chamber Council is responsible for steering the work of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce 's Policy team.
It meets on a quarterly basis to discuss the latest national and regional political developments, vote on priority themes, and engage in constructive dialogue regarding key Chamber policy campaigns.
Once elected, members can serve up to three consecutive three-year teams.
During this time, members will promote the work of the policy team, attend Chamber events, and share feedback from fellow Chamber members and business contacts at the Chamber Council meetings.
