Chamber helps material specialists achieve top accreditation
Pi-kem has received a trio of nationally recognised qualifications after completing training courses offered by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC).
The GBCC delivers a widespread portfolio of import and export training, all accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
Updated frequently to reflect the needs of anyone working in an international trade environment, the courses contain specific content which enables businesses to upskill their staff.
Pi-kem are specialist suppliers of advanced materials and equipment for innovative research.
Taking full advantage of their membership to the GBCC, Pi-kem sent three members of staff to complete the Foundation Award in International Trade.
As an integral part of Pi-kem 's Operations and Accounts team, those completing the course were operations manager Adam Gadsby, finances manager Ruth Madden and warehouse assistant Sam Barwell.
Adam Gadsby praised the team 's timely completion of the course following chances to trading laws and said it has enabled them to share their learnings with other local businesses.
He said: “It 's given us a clear understanding of customs entries and has allowed us to create a smooth transition for all our export customers. Having attended the course, we 've also been able to provide advice to other local businesses - it 's great to be able to share knowledge and offer help to others who are working through the changes.
“The Customs Documentation Course has been particularly useful, and we have already recommended the accreditation to other companies who supply internationally.
