Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) has launched an event to look at the financial case for net zero and sustainability.

The event, happening at Chamber house on Wednesday, 18 October from 9.30 to 11 am will help delegates understand the business case for net zero and sustainability.

Introducing sustainable measures to an organisation is often considered an expense that many businesses cannot afford. Data from the GBCC Sustainability and Business Insights Report highlight how Cost (55 per cent) and Economic Conditions (38 per cent) are two of the most cites barriers to achieving Net Zero.

By attending this event, delegates will understand the economic benefits of sustainability and understand how businesses have been able to generate profits from investing in sustainable processes.

Speakers at the event include Paul Warrington, relationship director at Lloyds Bank and Nicholas Lyons, director of Eric Lyons LTD.

Kuran Singh (pictured), GBCC policy advisor said: “We're very much looking forward to welcoming delegates to this event looking at the financial case for net zero and sustainability. Financial barriers are huge deterrents for many businesses, particularly SME’s, in their pursuit of environmentally friendly business practices.

“This event will seek to help delegates understand the business case, providing them with expert advice, on the opportunities associated with implementing environmentally friendly measures. We are delighted to have speakers from Lloyds Bank and Eric Lyons LTD to share their insight.
