Chamber launches new Health & Safety training course

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) has launched a new training course on Health & Safety for Warehouse operatives and supervisors.

The course is due to take place at the Chamber headquarters at 54, Hagley Road on Tuesday, 30 January.

The Chamber is also offering a discount where firms can save 20 per cent when booking two or more attendees.

Places need to be booked before 10am Monday, 29 January.

This specially designed session explores topics such as:

  • Brief Outline of Primary Health & Safety Legislation (including the Health & Safety at Work Act and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations, RIDDOR, COSHH, PUWER & LOLER)
  • Basic Requirements of The Health & Safety Policy (overview)
  • Health & Safety Responsibilities (Including NEMs and Young Persons)
  • Insurance
  • Fire & Emergency
  • First Aid
  • Accidents & Incidents
  • Risk Assessment (TABRA)
  • Health & Safety Monitoring
  • Safety Signs
  • Manual Handling
  • Working at Height
  • PPE

The course will be delivered by Beckie Staincliffe (pictured) from European Health and Safety Consultants (EHSC).

She said: “The aim of this course is to enable participants to demonstrate they are competent in relevant areas regarding general health and safety legislation and the coordination of health and safety management within their areas of responsibility”

“On completion of this course, participants will be able to recall and understand details of, and explain how the Company are affected by, and provide evidence to demonstrate how they help their company to comply with relevant primary Health & Safety legislation”

“If you are working inside a warehouse and have a team you need to manage, this course would suit you.

“Understand what it is you need to be aware of, learn about rules and regulations and what legislation needs to be followed.”

This full day course is sure to teach the knowledge all operatives and supervisors need.
