Chamber members invited to express interest in Osaka trade mission
Greater Birmingham businesses operating in the technology and sustainability sectors are being offered the chance to join a trade mission to the Japanese city of Osaka.
The trip – from 31 August to 6 September – is organised by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, who are inviting expressions of interest from members of other Chambers across the UK.
The visit programme will be chance to explore the vast array of opportunities open to UK companies, whether seeking business prospects, forging new partnerships, or gaining insights on the marketplace.
Expo 2025 in Osaka will bring together global innovations and cutting-edge technologies with a shared goal to help resolve global issues facing mankind.
Japan has the fourth largest economy in the world.
Trade between the UK and Japan is valued at £26.1bn, while the nations are signatories of two trade agreements – the CEPA and the CPTPP.
The programme for the trade mission includes pre-mission tailored webinar support, market insights in Japan (with particular focus on the Kansai region), visits to some companies involved in the tech and sustainability sectors, in-market events and a visit to the Expo 2025 Osaka (including the UK pavilion).
