Chamber members race for charity in Oddball Run
Four members of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce were part of a team who got together to raise much needed funds for Nechells children 's charity free@last in an Oddball Run.
Chamber members John Moore of Fruition Accountancy, Brad Field of Sensory Audio, Peter Howard of PHd and Greg Palethorpe of Bowbrook Financial Services were tasked with racing a car up and down the country with various meet points and challenges to complete on the way.
Both the cars and the participants donned a range of fancy dress from Jurassic Park rangers (dinosaur included), old ladies and Tom & Jerry; all with an adequate stock of pranks on board to ensure the other teams ' chances of winning was depleted.
The challenges took the teams up and down the Midlands with a pit stop in Cheltenham on Friday evening, before moving on to the Cotswold Driving Experience to find out the real racing winners and finishing back in Nechells.
The event raised over £8,000 for free@last which will go towards a new minibus to help continue the excellent work they do for young people in Nechells.
Another Oddball Run is being scheduled, so if you wish to get involved, please get in touch with free@last.
