Chamber members taking a ‘spin on the square’ cancer charity
Two Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce members will be swapping shirts & ties for shorts & t-shirts this May as they take part in Spin on the Square – a charity fundraiser for Children with Cancer UK.
Teams from Keelys Solicitors and CT Planning will join other big-hearted businesses from Lichfield & Tamworth, making a difference to the lives of children with cancer, by giving just one hour of their day to pedal exercise bikes on Lichfield’s Market Square.
Taking place on Wednesday, 1 May (8am-6pm), Spin on the Square will transform the Market Square into a vibrant and boisterous spin studio with smiles and songs all day long. The fun and friendly event is an opportunity to support business CSR goals.
Paul Roberts, partner and head of employment department at Keelys, said: “We’re delighted to be taking part in Spin on the Square again. It’s such an enjoyable and worthwhile way for our team to spend time together.”
Spin on the Square, organised by two Lichfield sisters, Dawn and Sharon, is hoping to raise £10,000 for Children with Cancer UK in memory of Dawn’s son Christopher, who died from a brain tumour in 1989, when he was just six years old.
Dawn Stakounis , Spin on the Square organiser, said: “Christopher was a bright and bubbly boy with a wicked sense of humour. Sadly, he didn’t survive his childhood cancer, and he'll be forever missed.
“But with the help of big-hearted businesses like Keelys and CT Planning, continued research and advances in modern medicines, means more children’s lives can be saved.”
Anyone interested in joining Keelys & CT Planning in making a difference to the lives of children with cancer, can sign up now.
