Chamber office manager triumphs at PA Awards
Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s office manager has been crowned the region’s best during a top awards ceremony.
Kate Warnaby, who is executive assistant to the chief executive’s office as well as being office manager at the GBCC’s headquarters, was triumphant in the Office Manager of the Year category at the West Midlands PA Awards.
The awards ceremony, operated by the PA Forum, took place at the National Conference Centre at the Motorcycle Museum and was attended by around 350 people.
Kate joined the GBCC in 2019, having spent many years working in the Arts sector, including 14 years as executive assistant to the artistic director and CEO at Birmingham’s Hippodrome theatre.
As well as her executive assistant and office management duties, Kate leads on wider Chamber initiatives including the Environmental Social Governance group.
She was also instrumental in co-ordinating the move from Chamber House to new offices at 54 Hagley Road in November 2023.
Judges said Kate “clearly demonstrated her determination, passion and enthusiasm for her role.”
They added: “From managing the office move while maintaining business continuity, to being the go-to person ensuring everything runs smoothly, her dedication is truly impressive.”
Kate said: “The PA Forum is a brilliant organisation, set up by Daniel Skermer, that unites and empowers those of us who play a vital role in providing business support across various sectors.
“The awards dinner was a fantastic evening, celebrating the achievements of all the shortlisted individuals among their peers and colleagues.
“I felt incredibly honoured to be nominated for this award in the first place - and absolutely delighted to have won.”
The GBCC’s managing director Helen Bates said: “A huge congratulations to Kate on this richly-deserved accolade.
“She is a wonderful colleague who works tirelessly to make the Chamber a great place to work.
“We’re delighted to see her impact recognised with the Office Manager of the Year award.”
