Chamber patron hosts technology minister
Birmingham-based technology partner and patron of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC), Intercity, hosted Minister Paul Scully, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy).
During the visit, Intercity showcased the remarkable journey it's been on since 1985, including the record growth achieved in 2022.
MP Paul Scully met with Intercity's graduates and apprentices, learning about how the company has supported their careers and personal development. The visit ended with a tour of Intercity 's cutting edge Information Security Operations Centre (ISOC), with an overview of how the company supports its partners in navigating the ever changing landscape of cybersecurity.
MP Paul Scully also met with Intercity's project management team and was impressed by their commitment and focus on delivering excellent customer service.
Intercity proudly showed him its service excellence award, which it recently won at the GBCC Annual Awards.
Intercity also thanked Yiannis Maos MBE, CEO of Birmingham Tech for facilitating the introduction. The company is proud to see the tech ecosystem in Birmingham working together to raise the profile of the region for its technology and innovation.
During the visit, the challenge of bringing new talent into the tech industry to support its growth was discussed. Intercity is working closely with local universities and schools to reduce the skills gap. The company is a firm believer in its people power and is on the lookout for new talent to join the fast-growing team.
