Solihull Chamber president, Tony Elvin, has been named as an ambassador for Solihull-based charity Arrive Alive.

Arrive Alive, Solihull Chamber's charity of the year, is the UK's only registered charity solely dedicated to funding vital lifesaving vehicles and equipment for Community First Responders (CFRs).

CFRs are medically trained volunteers who are regulated and dispatched to frontline life threatening 999 calls by West Midlands Ambulance Service, and can arrive at the scene of a medical emergency in those vital minutes prior to a road or air ambulance due to being directly based within the heart of the local community.

General manager at Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull, Tony (pictured) has a rich and varied hospitality and leisure background working in and operating health clubs, bars, restaurants, family entertainment centres and hotels.

Tony is also active ambassador for the region, deputy chair for Solihull BID, Board Member of the Midlands Retail and Hospitality Forum, head judge for the Midlands Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards and the Midlands Education Awards, trustee for the Birmingham Civic Society, and board member for Solihull Shopmobility.

On his new appointment, Tony said: “Arrive Alive do a fantastic job funding vital lifesaving vehicles and equipment for Community First Responders. This work saves lives and as such I am immensely proud to be an Ambassador for this wonderful charity. ”

Debbie Roscoe, from Arrive Alive, added: “The Arrive Alive team are thrilled to welcome Tony on board as an ambassador, his support has been a great boost to the team who have continued to work throughout the pandemic.

"Tony supported Arrive Alive during lockdown with a Covid secure run along with the committee members of Solihull Chamber of Commerce. His enthusiasm to champion our small but mighty lifesaving charity is wonderful, we look forward to working with Tony in the coming months. ”
