Jason Challoner, president of the Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce, is calling on local businesses to support young people by backing this year's Future Faces awards.

Following the launch of the Future Faces and Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) awards this week, the Chamber are encouraging businesses to show their support by sponsoring the achievements of the region 's young people.

This year 's awards will especially commend those individuals who have gone above and beyond in some of the worst hit sectors of business.

Jason Challoner (pictured), president of Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber and managing director at ValYou Recruitment, said: “Having previously won Small Business of The Year in 2020 for the Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber, I would encourage all companies across our area to get involved in the upcoming Future Faces and Apprentice of the Year awards.

“We need to support our young people by promoting the positive contributions they make to our organisations. My own apprentices and work experience students provide ValYou Recruitment with an energy and enthusiasm, offering fresh ideas, new perspectives and solutions on every day business challenges. ”

Awards still available for sponsorship include:

-Apprentice of the Year

-Future Face of Arts and Culture

-Future Face of Charity and Social Enterprise

-Future Face of Industry

-Future Face of Public Sector and Education

-Future Face of Retail and Hospitality

-Future Face of Sales, Marketing and Communications

-Future Face of Sustainability

Previous winner of the Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth (SLT) 2020 Young Professional of the Year awards, Daniel Aston, HR manager for Access Bookings, also encouraged businesses to nominate future stars in the awards.

Daniel said: "As a previous winner of the SLT Young Professional of the Year, I would encourage businesses across the region, to nominate their future stars and highlight the good work they do. The award has given me a platform to build upon on my confidence and represent my company on a larger scale"

Hannah Montgomery, managing director of Golddust Marketing and winner of SLT and Cannock Chase Young Professional of the Year 2021, said: "Being part of the Chamber's Future Faces membership has undoubtedly enhanced Golddust Marketing and Golddust Direct's reputation. I would recommend anyone under the age of 35 to consider putting forward an award application.

"You don't have to be a member to enter but there are great opportunities that will arise from being shortlisted or winning. Having previously won Young Professional of the Year 2021 for the LTSC Chambers, I have now been accepted on to the board of governors for South Staffordshire College.

"I cannot wait to support the college to aid future faces growth and explore ways of integrating the learning to reflect the needs of the local business community."

Lauren Henderson, solicitor at Rutherfords LLP added: “Future Faces is an amazing opportunity for young people to get their name out there and to showcase the contribution they make within local businesses. It is important that we recognise the positive impact that young people have throughout our businesses ”
