The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) Quarterly Business Report survey for Q2 launches today.

The report, sponsored by Birmingham City University, is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city region, offering an up-to-date snapshot of the performance of the Greater Birmingham business community.

The survey gathers business views on key indicators such as sales, exports, investment intentions and the workforce, with the data being collated at a national level and feeding into policy and lobbying activity for both GBCC and the British Chambers of Commerce, reaching institutions such as the Government and the Bank of England.

On average, the survey takes less than five minutes to complete.

Each participant will also be entered into a fabulous prize draw to win a meal for two at Chapter, Edgbaston (terms and conditions apply).

Emily Stubbs (pictured), GBCC head of policy, said: “The results from last quarter 's survey revealed that domestic sales and orders have been on an upward trajectory since the start of the year, as well as welcome signs that the recruitment difficulties seen for many months are starting to ease.

“The uptick in business’ expectations that prices will stabilise rather than increase, coupled with a slight drop in concerns about inflation are reliable signs of optimism for the near future”.

“As we continue to emerge from the challenging economic climate both locally and nationally, it’s vital that we hear from as many firms as possible so we can properly assess the impact political and economic developments are having on the local business landscape.

“The results of this survey form the basis of our Quarterly Business Report publication which we use inform decision makers and stakeholders across the region.

“Our findings are also shared with key Government contacts at the Treasury, DBT and the Bank of England, so your response will have a direct impact on Government policy at the highest level.

“We want to hear from start-ups to multinationals; respondents don't need to be a CEO or director to take part, just to have an understanding of how their business is performing”.
