The training depart of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) will be hosting another session of the popular Exports Solved: Decoding the Documents course.

During a three-hour online session happening on 30 July, delegates will gain a clear understanding of the essential documentation required when exporting goods overseas.

It will conclude with a Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to tap into the expertise of a dedicated and knowledgeable trainer.

Topics covered in the course include:

  • Documents necessary for an international shipment
  • Exporting to the EU
  • Detailed explanation of each document, including packing lists, invoices, transport documents, insurance documents, health certificates, certificates of origin, and inspection certificates
  • Customs declarations
  • Preference rules of origin
  • Preference documentation
  • Governance
  • Sources of international information and help
  • Summary and Q&A

GBCC training manager Leah Quarmby (pictured) said: “When we hosted the pilot session late last year, our goal was to provide an overview of the various types of documentation exporters may be asked for when shipping goods internationally.

“Through discussions with customers about their challenges, a common theme emerged: uncertainty around which documents are mandatory, which products require specific paperwork, and how to navigate conversations with clients when unusual requests arise.

“We were incredibly proud that our inaugural session was a complete sellout.

“Based on the positive feedback and the insightful questions raised during the Q&A, we've further refined the upcoming session to explore even more critical areas and provide even greater value.”

The training fee for GBCC members is £95 plus VAT and £145 plus VAT for non members.
