Chamber staff take part in 'Walk for Men 's Health '
In honour of Men 's Health Week this week (12 -18 June), Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce staff took to the streets of Birmingham yesterday on a 'Walk for Men 's Health '.
The walk began at Chamber House, going down through Centenary Square, then looped back through Brindley Place.
Organised by the Diversity Inclusion Belonging (DIB) group at the GBCC, the walk was aimed to get everyone in Chamber House out of the office and out into the sunshine, which has been proven to have a positive impact on both physical and mental health, as well as productivity levels.
Lillian Elekan, head of Membership at the GBCC, took part in the walk. She said: “Yesterday some of Team Chamber enjoyed a sunny (hot!) lunchtime walk to mark International Men 's Health Week. This years ' Men 's Health Week is encouraging men and boys to build healthy habits, and although we all know the benefits of getting some fresh air and steps in during the working day (not just for our physical health, but also our mental wellbeing and workplace productivity) not everyone regularly prioritises this.
“We 'd love to encourage more of our team, and more of our members, to introduce this small healthy habit! ”
