Members of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce executive committee came together to discuss how business can best plan for 2023 - particularly with issues such as tax, accounting and marketing.

The discussion took place at The Townhouse in Sutton Coldfield high street.

Vice president Naeem Arif hosted the discussion and was joined by Charlie Sangha, business development manager for Inform Accounting, Joanna Drinkwater, managing director of Grant McKnight Accountants and Kate Curry, MD of Curry Design Company.

All participants gave expert advice to business owners and also answered questions from members.

Naeem said: “As a committee, representing Chamber members in Sutton Coldfield, we felt it was an ideal time to put aside a couple of hours to discuss these three important subjects with fellow businesses.

“Change and adaptation within your company is going to be vital in the new year, especially in such unprecedented times for business and having the opportunity to reflect on what might happen will help those who attended. ”

Charlie Sangha, covered the topic of cashflow within accounting and gave advice on how keeping a strong track of the flow of money in your business.

He said that having strong awareness of available grants and funding options can have a positive impact on decisions made throughout the year.

Joanna Drinkwater took delegates through the myriad of changes to the tax system in the UK after the Autumn Statement and stressed the importance of staying on top of how changes to tax regulation can affect a business, employees or personal finances.

Kate Curry talked about setting up a brand for 2023.

She suggested businesses need to reflect, review and react to maximise the benefit of their brand and think very carefully about how customers ' buying and engagement habits may have changed during 2022.
