Chamber teams up with St Giles in launch of Christmas jumper campaign

Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce president, Jason Challoner, has called upon fellow members across the district to support their chosen charity, St Giles Hospice, for a day of fundraising on Tuesday 7 December by encouraging employees to don their Christmas jumper and raise money for the Whittington-based hospice.

Launched at the Chamber 's social networking lunch at Lichfield Garrick last week, regional fundraising manager, Samantha Storey, was delighted in the interest shown by members so far as the charity starts to promote opportunities for business and local people to raise funds around such an important time of the year for the organisation.

Samantha said: "Bringing together Chamber members across Lichfield and Tamworth for a specific day of fundraising and offering this opportunity for any business large or small to get involved is really exciting and I 'd encourage anyone interested to get in touch with our team. Christmas fundraising forms a key part of our efforts each year, including events such as our Rudolph Run, and the funds raised will go a long way towards helping our nurses and care teams to provide the support that our patients and their families need."

Jason Challoner, managing director of Valyou Recruitment, based in Burntwood, who recently moved into his second year as Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber president is offering a family ticket to the Lichfield Garrick worth over £100 to the winner of the best Christmas jumper photo shared on social media during the day.

He said: "It 's incredible how much support St Giles have given to people nearing the end of their lives, especially over the past two years through the Covid-19 pandemic, offering care both in the community and on site at the hospice in Whittington and we are excited to be using our connections across the area to help promote the fundraising efforts of our chosen charity."
