Chamber to support 2025 Greener Solihull Schools Awards
Solihull Chamber of Commerce has announced it will be supporting the 2025 Greener Solihull Schools Awards, an inspiring initiative led by Solihull Council that recognises and celebrates the environmental efforts of local schools across the borough.
Following the success of the 2024 awards, which saw projects such as litter picking, pen recycling, and pre-loved uniform sales take centre stage, the programme is once again calling on local businesses to step forward as Business Champions.
By sponsoring a school, businesses can play a meaningful role in empowering young people to build a more sustainable future, while contributing to the social value of the borough.
“The Greener Schools Awards provide a brilliant opportunity for schools and businesses to come together in support of a common goal — protecting our environment,” said Sarah Lardner, Programme Lead for the Greener Solihull Schools Awards.
“We’re grateful to Solihull Chamber for supporting this initiative and inviting members to get involved. By becoming a Business Champion, companies can directly invest in the next generation of climate leaders and show their commitment to sustainability within the community.”
What it means to be a Business Champion:
- Sponsor one or more schools with a reward contribution of £200 per school
- Provide a reward in the form of either:
- A voucher for sustainability-related resources, or
- A purchased item that supports the school’s green initiatives
- Offer brief feedback on the school’s award application
In return, sponsors will:
- Be invited to the awards ceremony in November 2025, attended by the Mayor of Solihull
- Have their company logo included in event promotions and printed materials
- Be featured in press coverage about the awards and sustainability in education
