Solihull Chamber of Commerce is leveraging the GBCC's Quarterly Business Report survey to gain valuable insights into priority areas for local businesses this quarter.

The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) Quarterly Business Report survey for Q3 launched recently, with each participant being entered into a prize draw to win a spa day and three-course lunch for two at Hoar Cross Hall.

The report, sponsored by Birmingham City University, is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city region, offering an up-to-date snapshot of the performance of the Greater Birmingham business community.

The survey gathers business views on key indicators such as sales, exports, investment intentions and the workforce, with the data being collated at a national level and feeding into policy and lobbying activity for both GBCC and the British Chambers of Commerce, reaching institutions such as the Government and the Bank of England.

On average, the survey takes less than five minutes to complete.

Eileen Schofield (pictured), President of the Solihull Chamber, together with the vice-presidents, recently met with Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, to discuss transport connectivity within the Borough.

Research from the Business Commission West Midlands and the Solihull Economic Snapshot 2024 showed that a well-connected, affordable and reliable public transport system is a vital part of economic growth strategies.

In Solihull, this will support businesses in attracting and recruiting talent from around the whole region, capitalising on investment projects in Solihull town centre and the surrounding areas to boost the retail and night-time economy and will support with leveling up within the borough where significant inequalities remain between the north and the south of Solihull.

Eileen has urged a call to action: “Your responses to the Solihull-specific questions will provide valuable insights into your business' experience and views on such a vital lever for regional growth and prosperity. We are committed to working with stakeholders to ensure that members' priorities are a key pillar in regional policy decisions.”
