Business leaders in Greater Birmingham today urged people across the West Midlands to cast their votes in the crucial General Election.

Polling stations opened at 7am this morning for the national vote, the first since December 2019.

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has produced a wealth of content ahead of the election to inform the business community of the key pledges from the main political parties.

Henrietta Brealey (pictured), chief executive of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “With the polls due to close in a few hours, it’s important for firms to understand the key pledges which the main parties are putting forward and how they could impact their business.

“That’s why our Policy team have created short and snappy summaries of the manifestos that have been published by the political parties outlining their preferred stance on a range of policy areas such as skills, international trade, cash and finance and investment.

“Whilst a steady stream of opinion polls are pointing to a clear outcome, as an apolitical organisation we would urge everyone to ignore the noise and exercise their democratic right to vote.”
