Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is joining forces with four other divisional and regional Chambers to celebrate International Women's Day.

The Asian Business Chamber, alongside Burton & District Chamber, Sutton Coldfield Chamber, Solihull Chamber and Future Faces Chamber, all part of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, will be hosting a joint event to celebrate the day, celebrated and hailed around the world for shining a spotlight on women's issues.

The virtual event will take place on 8 March from 11am.

Three business, health and media leaders will be discussing women in leadership, and how flexible working practices may need to be adapted following the pandemic.

Satnam Rana (pictured), former BBC correspondent, Sarah Folley, critical care paramedic for Midlands Air Ambulance, and Sheila Brown, chief executive of charity Newlife, will be taking part in the panel discussion.

Anjum Khan, director of ABCC, said: "This year ABCC is celebrating it 's 10th International Women's Day event in partnership with Solihull Chamber, Burton Chamber and Future Faces. I am delighted that three inspirational women will be joining as our guest speakers.

"International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

"Women's equality can't wait. It's going to take everyone to think and be inclusive - all the time, everywhere. An equal world is an enabled world.

"Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.

"We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world."

The event is free to attend for members of the Chamber.
