Chambers to jointly host International Women's Day event
Burton and District Chamber is joining forces with three other divisional and regional Chambers to celebrate International Women's Day.
Burton and District Chamber alongside Asian Business Chamber, Solihull Chamber and Future Faces Chamber, all part of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, will be hosting a joint event to celebrate the day, celebrated and hailed around the world for shining a spotlight on women's issues.
The virtual event will take place on 8 March from 11am.
Three business, health and media leaders will be discussing women in leadership, and how flexible working practices may need to be adapted following the pandemic.
Satnam Rana, former BBC correspondent, Sarah Folley (pictured), critical care paramedic for Midlands Air Ambulance, and Sheila Brown, chief executive of charity Newlife, will be taking part in the panel discussion.
Chris Plant, Burton and District Chamber's divisional director, said: "This year Burton Chamber is delighted to be celebrating International Women 's Day in partnership with the Asian Business, Solihull and Future Faces Chamber.
"International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
"We know that achieving equality and inclusivity is not only good for business, but good for society.
"We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.
"I'd like to encourage members and non-members of the Chamber to attend what is expected to be a must-attend event."
The event is free to attend for members and non-members of the Chamber.
