Birmingham-based Three Local Charities Lottery has announced that Mark Hopton has stepped down from his roles on the board of directors and at Acorns Children’s Hospice, following a 10-year stint.

Three Local Charities Lottery is an independent joint lottery that equally supports Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Hospice and Focus Birmingham, helping fund their work within local communities through long-term charitable projects and initiatives.

Mark (pictured) joined the organisation since 2013 and became chair in 2015.

He will be succeeded as chair by Julie Ward, who has been a director since 2016 and a trustee of Birmingham Hospice since 2021.

Julie Ward said: “Mark is certainly going to be a hard act to follow, but I look forward to taking on this leadership role and new challenge. Building on our charity partnership to grow awareness and funding for the Charities through the Lottery income.”
