Charities invited to apply for Chamber support
Burton & District Chamber of Commerce are now taking nominations for their Charity of the Year 2023.
The Burton & District Chamber chooses one charity every year to support in their fundraising efforts and help spread the word about the incredible work they are doing within the local community.
The Chamber is now requesting its member businesses to nominate a local Burton & District charity to serve as its Charity of the Year for the 2023/24 term. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, 29 March 2023.
Charities who are interested in applying are also encouraged to nominate themselves, but all those put forward must be a registered charity.
After the deadline for nominations, the Head of the Burton & District Chamber, Richard Brooks, will invite each of these nominees to apply individually. The deadline for individual applications is Saturday, 15 April.
The applications will then be shortlisted by the chamber executive committee and the successful nominees will be invited to present to the committee on Tuesday, 2 May.
The new charity of the year will then be announced on Tuesday, 16 May 2023 at the annual general meeting.
Richard Brooks (pictured), head of Burton & District Chamber of Commerce said: “This is a super opportunity for one our local charities to apply to be our Charity of the year, raise their profile and be the focus of our fundraising activities.
“The nomination process is open to all of our local charities large or small, and we encourage our members be part of the process by letting us know who they think should be in the running.
“We know there are many worthy causes here in Burton and the selection process will be a difficult one, but we hope to be able to name each in the process through our public channels, so inevitably if some are unsuccessful, we can still highlight and promote those who took the time to apply too. ”
Please email [email protected] your nomination and Richard Brooks will contact each to invite them to apply.
